Mr. Matthew Cox graduated from the Benedum Collaborative in May 2011 with an M.A. in Secondary Education/Social Studies. After graduation, he was hired by Kanawha County Schools and has been working at Capital High School in Charleston, WV, since August 2011.

Mr. Matthew Cox graduated from the Benedum Collaborative in May 2011 with an M.A. in Secondary Education/Social Studies. After graduation, he was hired by Kanawha County Schools and has been working at Capital High School in Charleston, WV, since August 2011. During his time at Capital High School, he has taught 10th grade American history, 11th grade contemporary studies, honors 10th grade American history, and Advanced Placement European history. He currently serves as the adviser for Capital High School’s Youth Leadership Association which participates in civic education simulations including Model United Nations and Youth in Government. Mr. Cox is active with the Central West Virginia Writing Project and will serve as the school coordinator for Marshall University’s S.C.O.R.E.S, academic competition during the 2013-14 school year.
